Fall – Gourds

The cool weather is finally here. I’m trying to get the last of the harvest in before the first rain comes tonight.

I garden more for the art of growing weird stuff than the food ( we are after all a Vampire family). So that said, I love my gourds.

The vines are lovely and each gourd is a wonderful natural work of art!

    1. Absolutely! Unfortunately the Big Moon and Atlantic Giant pumpkins that were supposed to be 125+ pounds each were about the size and shape of albino shrunken heads! Oh well. The Zinnias and Dark red and Mahonogy colored Sunflowers thrived!

  1. I always saved the seeds from our Halloween gourds and planted them in the backyard every Spring when I was a kid! Gourds were so easy to grow, and yes, each plant seemed to grow a unique variety! It was weird!
