What We’re Talking About Today.

What We’re Talking Thinking About Today.

I should strike the we’re as well because, while I did speak with quite a few folks today. It wasn’t anything I think my readers will find interesting. We DID talk about our dogs. Dogs are good. Anytime you see a dog, pet a dog, or talk about dogs is a good day.

I was digging a post hole in my backyard today. I did not see any ghosts. I didn’t find a skull.

With old wood left over from a deck building project I’m making rustic garden art and plant stands. I painted the first one purple. Why? Because I wanted to. Photos to come at a later date if it survives the next storm (or doesn’t survive.)

What? Why aren’t out out finding blood Juliette? Aren’t you a Vampire? Some might ask that. In turn I could ask you, why aren’t you cooking, gathering eggs, or going through the Taco Bell drive thru, or hunting down ducks or wild game, or making reservations at your favorite Italian restaurant RIGHT NOW? I don’t eat 24/7 and neither do you.

The primary election was yesterday, at least in California, where I live. Yes, I vote. Of course the same old, same old, same OLD, people were reinstated for no other reason that blind name recognition. I don’t even know why I bothered to vote, but I did, just to show that a few of us do not have a heard mentality. I wish there had been a NONE OF THE ABOVE option. Or the I wish they’d all go away option. Or the Let’s try this again with somebody new and born before the last Ice Age option.

And speaking of the Ice Age, I read today that some scientists are getting closer to bringing a baby Wooly Mammoth into the world. It would be the first, but not really the first, and not that new with 15,000 year old DNA. Who will teach it how to be a proper Wooly Mammoth? An elephant maybe, but that is kind of like a coyote trying to teach a wolf to be a wolf. Close, but maybe not close enough. But hey, maybe love will find a way.

Spring has come with purple iris, a huge display of snow drops, daffodils, and blossoms on almost every tree. Just up the road in the Sierra Nevada Mountains everyone is completely snowed in. But that isn’t a bad thing. Snow melts and feeds the trees ravished by forest fires, and it also fills the rivers and lakes for drinking water, agriculture, and of course the salmon and steelhead fisheries.

On the creative side I’m working on a sort of large painting and using my easel which is so much better than working on a flat table. I’m also working on a new book. It isn’t paranormal and has nothing to do with this blog. You’ll like it. I hope a lot of people like it. AND the Writer, Poets, and Deviants will be out with a new and exceptionally FUN anthology in a few months.

So stay safe everyone. Give hugs, and thanks. Pet your cats and dogs. Get outside. Check in on those who are elderly or might need extra help, or are alone. And kiss a Vampire – you’ll thank me for it later.

~ Juliette aka Vampire Maman
