October is HERE!!!!

I completely missed the FIRST DAY IN OCTOBER.

I’ll be the first one to tell you that October, frequently referred to as ROCKtober, is the best month of all. Why, you may ask. Well, I’ll tell you.

Halloween is in October. My birthday is a week before Halloween. In October the weather FINALLY cools down. Where I live, there are more birds around in October. When we get the FIRST RAIN which is usually the week between my birthday and Halloween the FROGS come out in the vernal pools.

Best of all October is a time when Vampires, Ghosts, Werewolves, and all of those who are just a bit different aren’t considered monsters. Due to the proximity to the election cycle we have politicians to call monsters and freaks.

My cousins are out from Louisiana this week. They want to see Eleora. I’ll talk more about that later. But they also want to have fun. We’re headed off on a roadtrip to see California Redwoods, caves, and explore the Gold Rush towns of my youth. It will be a great time to catch up, make new memories, and get some new blood in our systems.

I have to admit that Vampires from Louisiana have a much longer history than my siblings and I do here in California. While our history is rich, theirs is richer, with more Vampire lore, so many more Ghosts, and I’m sure their Werewolf population is pretty healthy.

Happy October! Come back for more new Vampire fun (wasn’t exactly fun today but you know what I mean) and maybe a few old favorites.
