Short Story Sunday: Book Fair

“Oh come on, it will be fun. You know the only time you’re truly relaxed and in your element is when everyone is looking at you, wanting you, desiring, you. Well, that and when you’re killing Demons or Vampire Hunters.”

“I have a lot on my mind,” said Max to his younger brother Val.

“Don’t we all,” said Val. “This is a book reading event so we should do quite well.”

“Why is that?” Max asked.

“You look like you’re off the cover of a bodice ripper romance. I’m what every woman imagines a modern Mr. Darcy would look like,” said Val.

Max had to smile at Val’s description of them. “At least I’m keeping my shirt on. I don’t want anyone to swoon and faint.”

It was just another Saturday night. Two Vampires were going out to a local book fair, and wine event, and I guarantee they even got a bite to eat.

I’ll see you next Sunday for another Tangled Tale.
