I have a new twitter account. I’m not exactly sure how to use twitter or how it works but I’ll figure it out.
Follow me and my Vampire family, get the latest on parenting, life, love and all the rest…and I’ll follow your adventures at:
Juliette Kings@vampiremaman
I think that is my address, but there again, I’m not sure. I tried to look up some friends and couldn’t find anyone I know.
And I’m sure hashtags have nothing to do with cooking, but I’m trying to figure it out.
My kids say twitter is for old people. OK, I’m an old person. If I can figure out the Adobe Creative Suite and be at over the top expert level then I can figure out twitter.
Still trying to figure out my husband but he is a lot more complex than anything online.

following!
Actually, I thought I was following, but there seems to be something wrong with the address.
There was an old address but this is the new one. Trying to figure it all out and I’ll get back to you.
Can not find you π¦ I am @DEbejer
Oh no. We’ll have to fix this!
All fixed and following! π
I should be following. I was able to follow by clicking to tweet this post. Maybe that will help others. Anyway, I’m not good with twitter either, but I’m game.
Thanks. Good to have you onboard!
Following! If anyone is having trouble finding you, they only need to put @vampiremaman. I look forward to reading your tweets!
Thank you ornerydame for the tip! I’m still learning.
It will feel horribly weird for a while, then it will feel like you’re talking to yourself. It gets easier. I’m a little concerned that your kids are saying it’s for old folks … why are we learning this then? Only half kidding.
Do yourself a favor and start by following a few favorite celebrities to get a feel for what a good tweet even is … I like Neil deGrasse Tyson β@neiltyson & Roger Ebert @ebertchicago for example.
I think most people are doing it wrong … especially folks who came to it thinking of it as a way to build platform (like me.) It’s impossible to keep up with the number of people that a good platform would demand. The problem, as I see it, is that folks are too busy trying to get followers and get their links passed around. I don’t want it to be about pimping everyone’s links, but rather a place to catch bits of wit and snippits of cool stuff.
I’ll be curious to know what you think after you mess with it for a while. And yes, the ID is the @ sign, followed by the twitter handle the person chose. In my case: @RRudeParanormalist in your case @VampireMaman
Thanks Renae. It will take a while (time restraints). I’ve just forwarded a few links – but like you said, I don’t want to just pimp and throw stuff out there. Thanks for the suggestion of following Neil deGrasse Tyson and Roger Ebert. I did find a few interesting twitter people with common interests. A friend of mind has had several celebrities tweet him back. Of course he is exceptionally funny and I’m sure they’re following him now. I’ll keep you posted on what happens and follow your twitters!
