Look away and I will be gone

I see my face in the mirror. Brown hair, hazel eyes, a serious look ready to laugh at any second, a mouth ready for a kiss. A pretty face in a cold glass backed with silver looking out like a ghost of my soul.

But you might see a shadow, or a ripple like water or an impressionist painting. You might see nothing.

Look into my eyes then follow them to the glass and you will see your reflection and you will see mine. Look away and I will be gone.

  3. You know, Juliette, this is really special. I like it very much. This, to me, is a wonderfully sensitive description of a fleeing moment… very nice!

  7. Nice! Reminds me of one of my favorite cuts from “Natalie Merchant Retrospective” – a duet she did with Michael Stipe called “Photograph” -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LLkwmC4G0C0
