Musings: Today is a day where we can just be.

We’ve had a house full of friends from England. Teens, adults, kids…it has been wonderful loud fun. Vampires always have fun when we get together.

It is a joy to have friends we don’t see for years then pick right up like it was just a few months ago we have last seen each other.

With Vampires we do that after decades or centuries. Kindred spirits. I can’t quite explain it but I’m sure you all know what I mean.

So it is another beautiful spring day, Easter, and I’m blinking in the sunlight but the songs of the birds and the sounds of the teens playing their guitars make up for it.

We’re off for more visits and maybe, just maybe a little quiet this afternoon or maybe a nap in the dark.

No debates today on the rights or wrongs of the universe. Today is a day where we can just be. 

I appreciate that thinking of what my friend said “If you want anything to get done go ask a busy person to do it.” We’re busy people. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

So downtime is savored along with friends and family and even the dogs and cats.

Night walks are better shared. Stories exchanged. More plans for more visits.

Wishing you all quiet times with just the right mix of random and thoughtful and planned and  spontaneous in between.
