Sometimes you just have to show your fangs.
My mother told me that. She showed me. As her only daughter she let me know that in order to survive and in order to be happy that I had to take control of my life.
That is a hard lesson for any young person, male or female. Take control but don’t be stupid. That is even more difficult.
A few things my mother told me when I was a young Vampire lass:
- Look good at all times. You can wear your jammie pants at home but not out in public.
- Be polite.
- Be witty.
- Listen at doors before you enter.
- Make sure there aren’t any stains on your shirt.
- Blood stains come out with cold water.
- Flattery will get you in trouble.
- Guard your secrets.
- Be skeptical.
- Be smart.
- Guard your heart.
- Use your brain.
- Choose friends you’ll want to keep forever.
- When you need to – show your fangs.
~ Juliette aka Vampire Maman

…and ain’t that the brutal truth !!! Some individuals out there just don’t understand anything else.
Indeed!
I took me a while to find out that that’s something my mother was wrong about. It’s not always best to keep the mouth shut and let everything do with you just to make everyone except yourself happy!
Finally I learnt… I learnt to become more and more myself… even though people realize that it’s not good when my eyes turn a sharp green… Maybe I don’t have fangs… but there are eyes that can warn…. π
You’re absolutely right!
Ahhh and eyes can be much more powerful tools than fangs ever were. Looks can kill (as the old expression goes).
