AGT Tonight AMAZING THINGS even for Vampires!

Not a lot of time getting ready for the Vampire Ball…

But we did watch America’s Got Talent tonight and OMG there are THREE clear winners:

William Close: Amazing, Talented, Good Looking, AMAZING…did I say amazing yet? I would pay big money to see him live. I think he is the best act I’ve ever seen on the show.

Eric Dittleman: Nobody that isn’t a vampire can read minds like him AND he is sooooo cute (like the Olate Dogs)

Joe Castillo: Beauty in sand

Our three runner ups were:

  • Eric and Olma: We liked them despite what the judges said.
  • Lindsy Norton: Beautiful Young Dancer
  • Olate Dogs: Cute cute cute (the dogs and their sweet trainers)

Teddy went out with friends. I’m going to fix a cocktail, throw in a load of clothes and read one of my silly summer paranormal romance books. The kids are online voting and planning the rest of the week with their friends (it is summer after all)

Wishing you all the best from Vampire Maman!

Important Vampire News, Events and the Joys and Pure Bliss of Vampire Technology

Yesterday Clara and I drove to San Francisco for various things, but we ended up with a lovely day in Golden Gate Park. A beautiful day in San Francisco can’t be matched anywhere.

On the way home she filled my iPhone up with photos of huge ugly fat men. There were about 30 of them. In all seriousness I told her to REMOVE the offending photos, but she was laughing so hard that she had to sit down. Sigh.

Why yes, Vampires DO have iPhones. Really. We’re big on taking advantage of the technology and culture of every century we live in (3 so far for me, but I’m a youngster as far as Vampires are concerned).

Summer is here and I’ve been too busy to post anything much of great depth or pressing Vampire parenting issues.

There are a few items I want everyone to be aware of.

  • The Vampire Masquerade Ball is still going on in August despite recent ugly events with Vampire Hunters in California, Nevada and Oregon.
  • From late July to the second week of August we will be OUT, at the ball and taking a break from blog postings.
  • I’ll be back in full force for all of that Vampire parenting back-to-school news. Yes, more on school issues for Vampire teens going to regular human schools.
  • An important area for Vampire parents and teens on  “The dangers of Vampire Hunters” will happen in September. I’ll keep you posted with the dates.

I hope to post some final sketches for the ball. Costumes are being made as we speak, but there is so much more to do.

Fantasy & Fun = Masquerade Vampire Style (rare birds, poets, mystery and magic)

The excitement builds as costumes are created for the upcoming Vampire Masquerade Ball in August.

For my darling and smart friends Ng and H (of course I dare not use their REAL names due to a recent surge in Vampire hunters) they wished to switch traditional genders. Always fun and THEY could pull it off.

For a sweet poet there are two choices. First I came up with a rare bird, but then thought maybe a fairy would also suit her. A bird with wings of sheer silken fabric. A fairy with an edge.

So I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed my 15 minutes of sketching (which is far better than 15 minutes of fame in my opinion)

And we’ll see you at the Vampire Masquerade Ball!

Vampire Ball Dress…off the shoulder sexy

This might be the dress for the Vampire Masquerade Ball, but it might be for a friend. I like this one a lot!

I think my husband Teddy would like it too.

My other dress sketches are here and here.

So in the happy vampire family, we have visitors coming soon. New vampires who need to be trained. My baby vampire child is turning 13 next week. I promised my son to take him out on a hunt, just the two of us. Changes and stresses, but there will also be great joy and discover, as there always is in the life of a modern vampire mom.

Vampire Masquerade! Costume Sketches – round one!

As you all know the Vampire Masquerade Ball is coming up in August. I am so jazzed.

Teddy said he’d wear a suit and a plain black mask. That is what he SAID, but it isn’t what is going to happen.

In the meantime Garrett and his pals (age 15-17) are going as the Three Musketeers – Vampire Style. They’ve asked me to help them with their costumes. I told them to go see my mom. She was actually alive at the time, but they insisted I help.

So that leaves Clara and I. Clara will turn 13 in July so this is sort of like a coming out party to her. We decided on a fancy princes fantasy ball look for both of us. That may change. I did a few 5 minute sketches. We’re still looking through old books and photographs for ideas.

In the meantime I thought I’d share what we have so far. Just some quick stuff with a Sharpie on paper.

Let me know what you’re wearing. Of course if you want to keep it a secret I’ll understand.
