I wait for the morning light

And find the world unfolding

In strange and familiar ways

Sleep is not my friend

In the time between

the blue sky and the dark night

So I wait.

  1. Sleep never comes until after the midnight hour, and often the wee hours of the morning. Life so often seems more alive at night, either indoors or out. Liked the poem, J. It feels like night.
