Short Story Sunday: First to 100 (or Once Upon a Time… at the Billiards Table)

For Today’s Short Story Sunday: A New Award Winning Short Film

First to 100 (or Once Upon a Time… at the Billiards Table)

A New Must See Film – WATCH IT

I have been up to my ears in alligators, vampire bats, and just stuff. Unfortunately that means I haven’t been here.

But I’m back with a wonderful new film written. It is less than two minutes. This was produced by a group of students at California State University Long Beach. WOW. I love this. WATCH IT. You will thank me for it later. When you look at the credits remember the names. You’ll see these names later – maybe at some future Oscar night.

I love this. I laughed at the end. Seriously.

Let me know what you think in the comments below.

I’ll be back with more new stuff soon. Vlad also said he has something to share in his Vampire Diaries. I can’t wait.

Juliette’s List of Watch a Million Times Somewhat Romantic Movies

On one especially shitty day in 2012 when the kids and husband were busy I sat alone in the dark and watched The Hangover for the third time. I laughed out loud alone in the dark. Then I felt better. At the time it was a movie I would not let my kids watch, but boy did I feel better.

This is not a list of the most romantic, or the best romance movies. This is a list of the movies that I can see again and again and again because all of them touch something romantic and comforting inside of me. I can relate to all of them.

These are the films I can watch when I’m in a slump, or alone, or just have to get my mind out of a funk. These are movies I love that I can watch over and over and over. Of course all of these have a bit of romance in them. Most have humor as well.

Juliette’s List of Watch a Million Times Romantic Movies

  • The Hangover (2009)
  • Bridesmaids (2011)
  • Made of Honor (2008)
  • Leap Year (2010)
  • The Proposal (2009)
  • 27 Dresses (2008)
  • Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day (2008)
  • Pride & Prejudice (2005)
  • Shrek (2001)
  • Rebecca (1940)
  • Notorious (1946)
  • Casablanca (1942)
  • A Walk in The Clouds (1995)

So what are your Watch A Million Times Romantic movies? Please share. Maybe there is one I haven’t seen yet.

Of course there is a list of movies that aren’t really romances, but that is another post, for another time.

But please – share your favorites. And go ahead and add The Lake House (2006) to my list while you’re at it.

Halloween Hotties: Bruce Campbell

Bruce Campbell 7A lot of people know this guy from Evil Dead or Burn Notice…

That hair, that chin, that face…

But no matter what he is in Bruce Campbell is ALWAYS noticed, and is one smoking hot Halloween Hottie!

No the smoke isn’t from fighting off zombies and other creatures; it is from the sheer presence of Bruce Campbell.

Yes, indeed. These photos don’t do him justice.  You have to see him in action and hear that voice.

Whew, turn off the smoke alarm and bring out the hoses!

For the complete filmography go to the official real Bruce Campbell web site:

Halloween Hotties: Movie Vampires

Countdown to Halloween with Vampires in the Movies.

I’m not a big fan of Vampire movies but I have to take off my hat and give a bow to the following Halloween Hotties!

George Hamilton – Love at First Bite (1979)

Of course this is just for fun. This movie definately gets the award for silly fun. You gotta admit George Hamilton as a Vampire is a Halloween Hottie of the first order.

Frank Langella – Dracula (1979)

Definately a Halloween Hottie! Oh baby! Take me now, right here on the dining room table next to my laptop!

My sister-in-law Verity did say “I just can’t get the idea of opening my eyes and finding myself in bed with Richard Nixon.” OK thanks for those charming visuals Verity.

Kate Beckinsale as Selene – Underworld (2003)

Selene is the ultimate Halloween Vampire Movie Hottie. Hands down. No discussing it.

“She reminds me of mom,” my brother Aaron said. “They could have based the character on her.”

I had to admit he was right. “But our mother has an entirely different view of Werewolves.”

“Pretty much,” I answered, thinking about my mom and her exploits. But then again, girls want to be like their mothers…or maybe they just want to be like Selene. I guess in my case it is both. But I’m not much like either one. Sure I can take down any Vampire Hunter or other evil force you throw at me, but, let’s just say I have a different style of going about it. That said, I’ll leave the dirty work to the professionals. Ahhh the joys of being a Modern Vampire.

Happy Almost Halloween! And don’t forget to check back this time next week for more Halloween Hotties!
