I want answers.

I have questions for the ages.

These questions are important.

Today I will ask the SECOND of 50 BURNING QUESTIONS.

YOU will provide the answer. YES YOU. I’ve got a poll below. Don’t just say you like this post. Answer the poll question.

Please comment as well if you want. I encourage it.

Here today, Gorn tomorrow.

BURNING QUESTION #2

Which is it? Star Wars or Star Trek?

You can base this on anything you want. Is it the hotness level of Chris Pine vs Harrison Ford? Tribbles vs Ewoks? Is it the never ending television series or movies? Seriously I love this stuff but only the good stuff. Both have a lot of crappy movies and TV associated with them. Both have been overdone to death. Both are like car wrecks – you don’t want to look but you can’t take your eyes off of it.

You have to admit, that despite the special effects and science fiction settings, both stories are stories of the close bonds of friendship and loyalty.

YOU KNEW this would be one of the questions. I’m getting it out of the way early.

All of that said, Star Wars and Star Trek have narratives of friendship, loyalty, hot guys, and the thrill of discovery that have become embedded into our culture. They are our campfire stories. They are our legends. They spark the emotions and the imagination.

So what do you think? Maybe you don’t. Just do the poll.

Awards and Rewards and a Monkey and a Vampire

readbyvampires

One thing I didn’t realize when I started to write this blog was that I’d discover other blogs. I don’t mean the famous bloggers on the big news sites but the REAL bloggers. You know, the people with funny stories and poetry and weird stuff and smart stuff. I discovered a lot of really smart stuff – scary smart.

Since I’m part of the WordPress blog culture others are so kind to share awards. I don’t know where they come from. They aren’t put out by the WordPress folks. None the less it is a fun thing that goes around. And we all like fun.

I don’t always know what to do with blog awards. I am honored and flattered to get them. You’re all so sweet.

BUT…

That said…

It always makes me feel shy when I receive them. And more shy to nominate other bloggers. I know I should. I follow many amazing and talented bloggers (I admire you – and you know who you are.) But when it comes to things like that I’m a wall flower. OK at a REAL party I can be the life of the party, but when it comes to things like the WordPress awards…I’m pretty shy.

Thank you so much to everyone who has nominated me for awards in the past. Thank you. I’m glad you read my blog.

I am in the process of creating a page with all of those funny questions I need to answer. John at Monkey Bellhop (monkeybellhop.com, a brilliant and funny blog you should all follow) has encouraged me to crawl out of my shell and do something about it (but that was months ago…I’m working on it.)

So Drum Roll Please…

As my gift to you and as a good way to say HAPPY NEW YEAR to all of those who follow Vampire Maman I’ve made some “awards.” All are posted right here. Feel free to copy and use them and change them and laugh at them or whatever you want. Give me credit if you want, or not. It’s all good.

And, why yes, the image of the girl on the “Proud Parent of Vampire Teenagers,” does look a lot like my daughter.

In the meantime I have some stories to tell about Rogue Vampire Hunters, teenagers and my kitchen… among other things. Excuse me I just heard a loud noise from upstairs and have to go.
