I will have my usual Friday post later today after I find something to write about… Of course usual isn’t the word I usually use around here. Maybe “unusual” is more fitting.
This week has been heart breaking and mind numbing for all of us who have opinions and value freedom and have half a brain in our heads.
Then I thought of my own work.
There have been times when I’ve had second thoughts about posting something because I didn’t want to offend someone. I didn’t want to offend anyone because they might leave a nasty comment or them might stop following Vampire Maman.
Well, that was stupid.
Most of the time when I’ve posted my offending posts I’ve received a flood of support. I am not alone. You are here with me. You are not alone because I’m here.
I’ve also had people attack me because I write this blog with a Vampire POV. Those who don’t follow this blog or read it don’t know what it is all about. They just attack. What a bunch of assholes. But it makes me mad – not just for me but for anyone who is attacked for writing their own thing.
If you don’t like Vampires, kids, bad poetry, typos (that I fix later), my opinions, Werewolves or romance – then shut the fuck up and get off my blog. Why do you even care? Why does it make you angry that I write something so odd and out there that hardly anyone reads it anyway? What makes you hate so much? You don’t even know me. You’ve never even taken the time to read my work.
Why do some people hate everyone who writes about Vampires? This isn’t Twilight folks. This is Vampire Maman.
Hey, even I don’t like the Twilight books but I’m not going to waste my time hating on it. If you like them then good for you. I’m fine with that. If you don’t like something then don’t read it.
But this isn’t about me. It is about everyone. It is about ALL OF US.
My advice for bloggers
- If you write it post it.
- If you feel it post it.
- If you draw it post it.
- If you love it post it.
- If you are afraid you’ll offend someone post it.
- If you think it is great then by all means post it.
- If you think it might be stupid or silly go ahead and post it.
Support other bloggers, artists, writers, and all who value the freedom of personal expression.
Do what you love.
Never be afraid.

Amen! And the ones who have something to say, have nothing to say! Once I had someone on twitter trying to be cute and made a public comment about my writing. This man had never commented on anything I have written and I had never had any contact with him in any manner ever. WTF? I ask him if he had ever read anything I’ve written; he said “Oh that comment was meant as a joke; I was just trying to make you smile and I guess I failed.” What a ass-hat! Thanks for your great and timely editorial!
A guy recently saw my Vampire Maman FB page and tried to start a fight. OK I told him to fuck off after his rude comments. I should have known better because he started to stalk me and taunt me. He wanted a fight in the worst way. I deleted his comment and blocked him. I’ve had other unsavory events as well. Ugh. Ass-hat is right! Thanks for dropping by DiAnne.
Bravo, thanks for putting these thoughts and feelings out there. Too many haters who love to troll. Good job telling them where to get off and to offer support for our fellow creative brethren.

I no longer worry about offending people. It seems we live in a society where even a positive note can offend someone.

Perfect post. I love your blog. Reading your stories or whatever you choose to write about is fascinating to me. If someone doesn’t like what any of us bloggers post then they should move on to what they are looking for, not harass or be mean spirited. Your blog is so original and inspiring, so bravo for standing up to the bullies. My question is “Why Must There Be Bullies both violent and persistent in their pursuit of what they would like to see vanish?” The world belongs to everyone and we all should have the right to our Freedom without worry of bullets aimed at our bodies.
