Burning Question #13: Be Positive. Thank You.

Once again it is Saturday and time for the 13th of 50 Burning Questions. Answer YES or NO on the quick and easy poll below. Your answer is secret and will not be sold.

Oscar Wilde

I have always adored Oscar Wilde.

“The optimist sees the donut, the pessimist sees the hole.” ~ Oscar Wilde

This (below) is my cat Oscar who was named after Oscar Wilde. Stay with me here a bit… We had a gray kitten, but I didn’t want to name him Dorian Gray, so I called him Oscar. That was eight years ago. He is wild, especially when we’re trying to sleep. And like Oscar Wilde, my Oscar is a talker.

Marla Todd _ Oscar Gray

This is Oscar. I love this cat so much.

But we’re not here to talk about cats, Oscar Wilde, or donuts, or the fact that some people spell it “doughnuts.” Why the fur-ball would anyone spell it doughnuts?

But Oscar Wilde, and my cat have a point there. You want to see the donut. I mean, don’t YOU?

What we’re talking about is blood, because as you all know this IS a Vampire blog. And don’t you forget it. OK you can forget it if you’re afraid of Vampires.

We’re also talking about ill tempered Vampires, and others who insist on being negative all of the time and are all doom and gloom and oozing with negativity. Who needs that?

This is also a PARENTING blog so just be forewarned if you’re afraid of parents, or children.

I know you’re all getting tired of me, and I’ve completely confused you (on purpose mind you) so here you go… Burning Question #13… drum roll please.

Burning Question #13: Is a pessimist’s blood type B-negative?

jellydonut

Always go for the jelly filled ones.

All negativity aside… I mean, how can you get negative when donuts are involved? Thank you so much for dropping by. I’ll see you next Saturday, or hopefully before then. B-positive!

xoxo

Ask Juliette: Blood Types, Werehamsters, and Possible Ghosts

Dear Juliette, Does different blood types affect a Vampire differently? For example, if the Vampire drinks type A or type O.

Most Vampires have type A+ blood. Don’t ask me why. It is just the way it is. Those with type A+ tend to survive the conversion process better (for those who were not born as Vampires.) Everyone who is born a Vampire has type A+. Don’t ask me why. I’m sure there are a few exceptions but, you know, it is what it is.

As for drinking different types, no it doesn’t affect Vampires differently. It is more of a preference like white wine vs red, or dark roast over light roast. Some Vampires will tell you that a more unusual type of blood like AB-, O-, or B- will give them a rush.

Each type has a different flavor but there are other factors as well. For example Werewolf blood has an undertone of Bourbon. Poet’s blood has a hint of black cherry and cardamom (great iced with a sprig of mint.)

Dear Juliette,

I am pretty open minded about other races species and stuff, but I have to ask. Does my son have to be a Werehamster? Is there anything that can reverse his condition or maybe make him into a Werewolf instead? It’s embarrassing.

Wow. Werehamsters are rare.

It is troubling when you have a loved one who transforms into something troubling. The issue with Werehamsters isn’t the fact that he becomes a hamster. It is the fact that he become easy prey to predators such as cats, hawks, dogs, and small children. If he is in one of those hamster wheels or crazy balls when he transforms back to human he could end up at the hospital with a wheel embedded in his neck, or worse. Try explaining that to the ER staff. The logistical issues of a Werehamster are difficult and of course dangerous.

Werewolves, on the other hand, really don’t need to worry about much of anything. They’re on the top of the food chain.

But don’t give up hope. There is a way to transform him into a real big boy Werewolf. Get in touch with the local Werewolf community (but not on a full moon night) and they’ll be glad to help you out. There is one condition, if your son wants to be a Werehamster then the Werewolves won’t help you. They don’t do hostile conversions. OK sometimes they do hostile conversions but they’re Werewolves. You know how they are.

I hope this helped. Good luck. If all else fails just do the hamster dance and keep your kid away from those wheels.

Dear Juliette,

My child likes crusts. Is that normal?

Yes.

We like crusts and haggis.

Dear Juliette,

Items keep vanishing from my house. Sometimes I’ll find it in odd places like behind the couch, or on the floor in another room. Am I going crazy? Do I have ghosts?

No, you aren’t going crazy. You don’t have ghosts in your home.

You DO have one or more of the following creatures: husbands, children, cats, dogs, or crows.

Deliciously Random Bites

Deliciously Random Bites

Most Vampires have A+ (positive) blood. Don’t ask me why. It is what it is.

Vampires like red things like blood, pomegranates, red shoes, apples, red wine and tomatoes.

Vampires don’t tolerate baked goods (cakes, bread, muffins, whatever) especially things with sugar, but my friend Rebecca is trying to find the perfect recipe for RED VELVET CAKE. As soon as I get the recipe I’ll post it for my regular human and Werewolf friends.

That is why you might find a Vampire who is a butcher or candle stick maker but never a baker.

Vampires like all sorts of music. Especially if it is different and creative and full of spirit.

Our hearts beat slower and our body temperature is cooler. Cold hands warm heart.

Our souls are dark and romantic.

There is a lot of life in the dark. Go into the woods on any night with a flash light. THAT is when the animals come out.

Contrary to popular opinions Vampires like a good joke (but I’m not going to tell you any).

Most Vampires have great voices. We could all be on the radio or voice actors.

I hope to finish one of my novels soon but enough of that.

Wishing you all a lovely Valentine’s Day Week. Especially my brother Valentine who was not born on the 14th. His birthday is April 1st.
